Nerys Grivolas is a Film Composer and Piano Teacher. She has scored the music for films, documentaries, commercials and TV Series in Europe, Hollywood and worldwide, her music is also broadcast on BBC Radio. Nerys holds an MA (Master of Arts) from Oxford University and studied Piano, Keyboard Skills, Composition, Orchestration, Music Theory, Harmony, Music Cognition and Music for Wellness at Berklee College of Music, Boston where she was awarded a Music Scholarship. She also studied Piano Teaching at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Canada.
In order to hone and help her piano students (of all ages) foster musical development, creativity, performance and harness peak performance expertise, Nerys has also studied Developmental and Cognitive psychology at Exeter University, Psychology related courses at Yale University and Harvard Medical School, the Neuroscience of Hearing and Experimental Psychology during her Music Cognition studies at Berklee College of Music.
Since her earliest years, Nerys Grivolas has been composing and music storytelling. Multi-Instrumentalist, Nerys started playing the Piano at a very early age, followed by the Flute, Celtic Harp, Pedal Harp and Voice Training. Music Scholar, she grew up surrounded by music, spending hours every day composing, arranging, giving solo piano recitals, playing in orchestras, chamber groups and singing in choirs. From an early age she won several prestigious piano prizes, performing regularly in London and the UK as both a solo artist and as part of a piano trio.
Nerys offers private piano lessons for all ages and all levels from beginner to advanced (including adult beginners). Lessons can be online or in-person at her home studio in Quimper (France). Lessons can be given in French or English.
